As we approach the Jewish Holiday of Simchat Torah – which coincides with the Hebrew-calendar anniversary of last year’s Oct. 7 terrorist attacks on Israel – Canada’s federal, provincial and territorial (FPT) governments have a solemn duty to stand by our country’s Jewish community.
These governments can help eradicate the scourge of antisemitism – a social disease which has risen exponentially since the attack—by endorsing B’nai Brith Canada’s 7-Point Plan to Combat Antisemitism in Canada, which you can access here.
“The plan offers a prescription for FPT governments to help cure the disease,” said David Granovsky, B’nai Brith Canada’s Director of Government Relations.
“We strongly urge the governments to collaborate with B’nai Brith Canada and to adopt the seven recommendations in our collective effort. We cannot afford to wait any longer before the disease metastasizes.”
