Sign the letter – Ban the Al-Quds Day Rally
Dear Mayor Chow, Mayor Plante, Mayor Sim and Mayor Gondek,
I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the upcoming Al-Quds Day rallies, expected to take place on March 28, and to urge you to take immediate action to ban this hate-fueled event from Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary’s streets.
As you are aware, Al-Quds Day has a well-documented history of hateful rhetoric, glorification of terrorism, and incitement to violence. Year after year, its participants openly denounce Canada as a so-called settler-colonialist state while simultaneously exploiting our country’s democratic freedoms to spread division and hatred.
This is not a peaceful demonstration—it is a rally that undermines Canadian values, fuels extremism, and threatens public safety.
Despite years of engagement between B’nai Brith Canada and the Cities of Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary, the decision to allow this rally to proceed again this year is both inexplicable and deeply troubling.
By permitting Al-Quds Day to take place on public property, the city is consciously allowing an event whose sole purpose is to advance the ideology of the IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps), a listed terrorist entity.
What has become of your obligation to uphold your commitment to inclusivity and public safety?
I urge you to take decisive action now to prevent this rally from taking place in our cities. The time to act is running out, and failure to do so will only embolden those who seek to spread division and hostility within our community.
You must act now!
