Twenty-four years ago this July, Buenos Aires’ Jewish community fell victim to a brutal terrorist attack. On July 18, 1994, the Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina (AMIA) was bombed, leaving 85 people dead and hundreds injured. It was the deadliest terrorist attack in Argentina’s history.
Home to a significant Argentinian Jewish Community, B’nai Brith Canada Winnipeg commemorates the AMIA attacks each year. On July 18 at 7:00 PM, B’nai Brith will host a memorial ceremony at the Asper Jewish Community Campus, which will include a candle-lighting ceremony and notable speakers.
