Job Title: Kavod Thrift Store Manager

Position Overview:
Kavod Thrift Store is seeking an enthusiastic and driven store manager to oversee day-to-day operations at our location in downtown Winnipeg. Owned and operated by B’nai Brith Canada, Kavod ensures quality second-hand items are available to the entire community while also reserving special, cost-free shopping days for individuals living below the poverty line.
As the store manager of Kavod, you will lead a team of dedicated staff and volunteers, maintain exceptional customer service standards (ensuring a warm and dignified shopping experience for all), and help promote the values of our organization within the Winnipeg community—kindness, compassion, and collective responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Store Operations: Oversee daily store activities, inventory management, pricing, and displays
- Team Leadership: Provide ongoing coaching to ensure team success and a positive work environment
- Sales and Revenue Goals: Drive retail and online store sales through effective store promotions, pricing strategies, and customer engagement
- Customer Service: Ensure excellent customer service through ongoing strategizing and training of staff and volunteers. Address customer concerns and create a welcoming environment
- Inventory Management: Work closely with the Community Engagement Assistant managing inventory flow, donations, and stock rotation and ensuring items are appropriately priced and displayed
- Marketing and Outreach: Collaborate on marketing and community outreach to increase awareness of the store and maintain our social media platforms
- Mission Support: Possess a solid understanding of our mission and vision, ensuring that store operations align with the overall goals and values of B’nai Brith Canada
Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Experience in retail management or a similar leadership role
- Strong understanding of thrift store operations, inventory management, and sales strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire staff, volunteers and customers
- Ability to work independently and with others, take initiative and solve problems effectively
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent and up-to-date computer skills
- Valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle
- Passion for supporting the community and helping those in need
