Questionnaires from Members of Parliament

Here’s what we can do
Constituents often receive questionnaires from their Member of Parliament, who represents them in Ottawa, asking which issues should be prioritized. These questionnaires usually include an “Other” section where you can write in an issue.

If you received the questionnaire, please consider writing in one of the short options below.

Option 1: Antisemitism and Hate Crimes

Please prioritize combating antisemitism and hate crimes. We need stronger enforcement, better reporting, and clear consequences for harassment and violence targeting any identifiable community.

Option 2: Strengthen Hate Laws and Protections

Please strengthen Canada’s hate laws and protections for all identifiable minority groups. People should be able to live, study, worship, and work safely without intimidation.

Option 3: Prevent Importing Foreign Conflicts

Canada should do a better job of screening and vetting to ensure we are not importing foreign conflicts and extremism. Newcomers should be committed to Canadian values and peaceful coexistence.

Option 4: Protect Canadian Values and Social Cohesion

Please reinforce Canada’s core values: mutual respect, equality, and social cohesion. We need leadership that clearly rejects hatred and protects the rights of all communities.

Option 5: Practical Community Safety Measures

Please prioritize community safety: improved hate-crime response, support for law enforcement training, and resources for schools and communities to address antisemitism and other forms of hate early.

Optional closing line (if there is space on the questionnaire):

Thank you for considering this. I live in your riding and would appreciate your support on these priorities.
